The contract includes building the bulkhead, seawall, relieving platform and dredging. Construction works started in March 2018, with scheduled completion by mid-2019. In late-April 2017, Port Canaveral started construction works on a new cruise terminal. In April 2023 was proposed the construction of a new cruise terminal on the Port's southern side.
